Available as standalone components or integrated into our control handles and handheld miniature style OEM uses, MSI offers a wide selection of force and displacement joysticks to meet customer requirements and application needs.
Miniature Joystick Force
When precision and fine control are required, joystick force often provides the ideal functionality. While a force joystick can be operated in a way that barely resembles its movement, the applied force is converted into a voltage signal output through our strain technology.

Miniature Joysticks
For mobile applications requiring greater operator control, MSI offers a range of miniature joysticks.
Originally designed and manufactured using traditional potentiometers and gimbals for signal output and operator feedback,
MSI has improved accuracy and reliability since introducing non-contact sensing Hall effect technology. Utilizing magnetic sensor technology instead of potentiometers, MSI joysticks offer a smooth touch, more reliable return to zero, and improved operational precision.
MSI’s miniature joysticks can be configured with selector knobs and handles, and many can be combined with other functions including Z-axis and button operation.

Miniature Joystick Force
462 Series – A compact design for high reliability and high performance miniature joysticks in commercial/industrial applications, setting the standard for force performance.
465 Series – Mid-range military performance for applications where temperature and humidity are not a significant concern. Designed to meet MIL-STD-202 requirements.
467 Series – Heavy-duty industrial performance, heat and moisture resistance, and resistance to gases and solids in air.
469 Series – Joysticks for controlling more information in the environment while providing performance and durability in a brass housing with a sealed construction.
470 Series – Fully ruggedized and sealed for the most demanding military applications. Designed to meet the sealing and humidity requirements of MIL-STD810 and MIL-STD-202.

5000 Series – MSI’s Hall effect joysticks provide truly non-contact sensing functionality and enhanced performance for improved reliability.
Series 5100 – The first miniature Hall effect joystick with fine motion control, providing ideal user feedback in a minimal available package. By innovating to reduce size, weight, and power consumption, this small joystick utilizes our non-contact sensing design to maintain reliability and performance to military specifications, even in this small package.
Displacement Joystick – Potentiometer
520 Series – Single-axis function with spring return and molded plastic construction.
Series 521 – MSI’s most versatile joystick, offering smooth, low friction with two buttons and a z-axis function option.
2-axis control.
523 Series – Single-axis control with spring reset to center or stay in place function. Ideal for throttle applications.
531 Series – Heavy-duty, all-metal 2-axis controlled, sealed construction. Available with directional or limit switch options and button function.
